Netlaw Media is an established UK based legal information, education & training organisation incorporated to deliver world-class law events, conferences, training programs & on-line media to the UK, European and Global legal sectors.

With the company producing some of the biggest law events in Europe, we are now looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager to work from our Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as a Sales Manager within the Events, Media or Professional Services sectors.

With direct duties of managing and growing a team of sales executives, the successful candidate will be working across the companies key events portfolio were you will not only maintain a high level of account management, but you will also be responsible for developing new clients for a wide range of law related events and exhibitions.

The Role

As an experienced Sales Manager, you will:

  • Maximise sponsorship sales by creating new relationships & opportunities
  • Consistently identify target brands and generate face to face meetings to establish new relationships
  • Support and work closely with Senior Management
  • Lead from the front in terms of all sales processes and proactively lead source from all mediums
  • Mentor, motivate and coach other staff where necessary
  • Set and uphold KPI’s for all sales staff
  • Contribute ideas to further develop sales
  • Liaise with internal departments / functions – marketing, operations, accounts etc

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Sales Manager in a similar role
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of brands and how brands buy
  • Own a black book of current up to date brand relationships and knowledge of trends
  • Have solid experience in face to face meetings, presentation creation and proposal writing
  • Have current knowledge of either the Events, Media or Professional Services sectors
  • Demonstrate strong sales campaign management skills, good planning and organisational skills and a solid understanding of time management

The successful candidate will be offered a base salary between £45,000 – £48,000 with an uncapped OTE which could see the successful applicant surpass a combined salary / commission of £80,000 in year one.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be proactive, resilient and confident when dealing with clients at a senior level. You will need to have excellent time management skills, be motivated by achieving and exceeding targets and have an excellent command of English both written and verbal.

In House Recruiter (2 days per week)

With plans of company expansion underway, Netlaw Media is now seeking to employ an in-house recruiter with a minimum 3 years’ experience for a pro-rated position of 2 days per week.

Based from Netlaw Media’s Chelmsford head office, the successful applicant will be highly experienced in sourcing, interviewing and hiring full-time candidates for a range of sales, events, operations and management positions whilst initiating and supporting all stages of the recruitment life cycle.

Working closely with senior management, our new in-house recruiter will be responsible for attracting and headhunting a range of new talent for the company whilst being an integral part of the interview / selection process. In addition to the minimum set requirements, you must also be highly experienced in creating attractive job specifications and advertisements whilst negotiating costs and packages with job boards and advertising outlets.

This role will be perfect for many people including (but not limited to) an experienced recruiter who may have a young family and is seeking to return to work without the hassle of a full time role, or an ambitious person who is currently studying a degree and looking for a flexible position.

Main Duties of the role will include:

  • Taking a 360 degree recruiting approach to the market
  • Managing the entire recruitment process from brief to completion
  • Supporting internal and external projects with regards to employee engagement
  • Attracting candidates of all levels by creating and posting well written job spec’s for multiple newspapers, job boards and social media platforms
  • Proactively headhunting new candidates

Profile:

  • A minimum 3 years proven recruitment experience with work related references

  • An experienced interviewer who knows how to ask the right questions
  • Ability to interview a high volume of candidates on a daily and monthly basis
  • The ability to write creative, focused, clear and concise job specifications and advertisements
  • The ability to work without instruction and without being micro-managed
  • The ability to negotiate advertising space with newspapers, job boards and websites
  • An excellent command of English both written and verbal
  • A diligent work ethic but must enjoy working as part of team
  • Be adaptable to new and exciting challenges

Salary:

From £22,000 – £25,000 pro-rata (Salary will be awarded to reflect skills and previous experience).

Event Operations Executive

Salary £24,000 – £28,000

With a record of selling out its last 20 major law events, Netlaw Media specialises in producing the largest events and exhibitions within the UK and European legal sectors.

With a portfolio of leading law events including The London Law Expo, The British Legal Technology Forum, The European Legal Security Forum & The British Legal Technology Awards, Netlaw Media is currently seeking a Conference & Events Operations Executive with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience to join our growing department.

Reporting directly to the MD & CEO and working alongside the Head of Event Operations, we are currently seeking to hire a Event Operations Executive to support a range of new and existing events.

Requirements & Responsibilities include;

  • A minimum of 4 years event production and / or event operation experience within the professional services arena.
  • A proven ability to identify, develop and roll out financially successful conferences and events from conception to completion.
  • The ability to manage all aspects of conference production from pre-event planning through to post-event evaluation and reporting.
  • Providing end to end management of conferences including: Management of venues, facilities, suppliers, registration, delegates, AV & technical, transportation, exhibition & signage, stage set / design, crisis planning, health & safety, security and risk assessment.
  • A proven record of assisting in researching and contracting suppliers
  • A proven record of updating event websites (WordPress preferred) and assisting in event marketing campaigns
  • Strong experience supporting and working alongside sales and marketing teams
  • Maintaining conference budgets as well as sourcing, negotiating and managing relationships with venues, suppliers and external vendors to achieve the highest standard of excellence and cost efficiencies.
  • Ensuring that all conferences meet risk, brand and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in developing, implementing and managing processes and procedures to ensure strict adherence with hospitality guidelines and compliance policies.
  • Proven on-site conference management skills including assisting in greeting speakers, assisting in running the programme / stages, networking etc
  • The ability to be self-starting and to work without supervision

Business Development Executive – Conferences and Events

The Business Development Department:

  • Strong command of the legal market or professional service market or solid experience with on-boarding blue chips. (This could mean that you have solid experience selling sponsorship packages to the legal, accountancy, finance or management sectors).
  • Researching, attracting, closing, retaining and managing new accounts
  • Managing, developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, leading organisations and partners
  • Building a pipeline whilst surpassing all set sales targets for each month / event
  • The ability to be self-starting and to work without supervision
  • A very confident phone manner, strong negotiation skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to be proactive, resilient and confident when dealing with clients at a senior level. There is a generous base salary of up to £26,000 + commission which could easily see the successful candidate surpassing £50,000 OTE in the first year.

Salary: £28,000 – £36,000

  • Devising high quality conferences and speaking sessions by researching the sector and identifying market trends, topics and speakers
  • Internet, publication and telephone research
