Sponsorship Sales Executive – Events & Exhibitions

Expected Year 1 OTEUp to £50,000 (OTE)

Netlaw Media is an established UK based legal information, education & training organisation incorporated to deliver world-class law events, conferences, training programs & on-line media to the UK, European and Global legal sectors.

With a record of selling out its last 20 major law events, Netlaw Media specialises in producing highly informative conferences, events, exhibitions and training programs delivered by renowned UK, European and Internationally acclaimed speakers from the legal and commercial worlds such as; Sir Tim Berners-Lee (Inventor of the World Wide Web), Dr. Michio Kaku, Randi Zuckerberg (ex-Facebook), Christian Horner OBE (Team Principal at Red Bull Racing), James Caan (Dragons Den), Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham and leading inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil to name a few.

With the company producing some of the biggest events in Europe, we are now looking to appoint an experienced Sponsorship Sales Executive to work from our Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ proven experience within sponsorship sales and have a very good understanding of events within the professional service sector.

The successful candidate will be working across the companies key events portfolio were you will not only maintain a high level of account management, but you will also be responsible for developing new clients for a wide range of law related events and exhibitions.

Requirements & Responsibilities include:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience exceeding targets within sponsorship sales
  • Strong command of the legal market or professional service market or solid experience with on-boarding blue chips. (This could mean that you have solid experience selling sponsorship packages to the legal, accountancy, finance or management sectors).
  • Researching, attracting, closing, retaining and managing new accounts
  • Managing, developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, leading organisations and partners
  • Building a pipeline whilst surpassing all set sales targets for each month / event
  • The ability to be self-starting and to work without supervision
  • A very confident phone manner, strong negotiation skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to be proactive, resilient and confident when dealing with clients at a senior level. You will need to have excellent time management skills, be motivated by achieving and exceeding targets and have an excellent command of English both written and verbal.

There is a generous base salary of up to £26,000 + commission which could easily see the successful candidate surpassing £50,000 OTE in the first year.

Senior Conference Producer – Large Events

Salary: £28,000 – £36,000

As the producer of the largest events within the UK legal sector, Netlaw Media produces major international law events including ‘The London Law Expo’, ‘The British Legal Technology Forum’, The European Legal Security Forum’, ‘The British Legal Technology Awards’ and has a record of selling out its last 20 major law events.

Netlaw Media specialises in producing highly informative conferences, events, exhibitions and training programs delivered by renowned UK, European and Internationally acclaimed speakers from the legal and commercial worlds. Reporting directly to the CEO and Managing Director and supported by an Events Operations Team, Netlaw Media is currently seeking to hire an experienced conference producer to produce a range of new and existing conferences and exhibitions for the UK legal sector.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have;

  • A minimum of 5 years producing large conferences / seminars within legal or professional services
  • A good understanding of the mechanics behind large multi-stage events and how successful events are produced and staged
  • Be self-motivated, deadline driven with an inquisitive approach to research
  • Be persuasive and able to convey and articulate complex concepts
  • Strong commercial acumen to identify compelling topics, themes and speakers
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and numeracy skills
  • Experience of managing event-based projects to deadlines and to budget
  • Educated to degree level

Your duties will include:

  • Devising high quality conferences and speaking sessions by researching the sector and identifying market trends, topics and speakers
  • Internet, publication and telephone research
  • Conveying compelling new ideas to senior decision makers
  • Contacting and acquiring senior level speakers from leading law firms and commercial organisations to give focused presentations at leading conferences and events
  • Collaborating with management as well as the sales and event operation teams to ensure good lists, support and content is produced for all events
  • Attend events and assist with the running on the day / Meet & greet speakers
  • To work with the event operations team to ensure cost effective and high-quality running of programmes, with costs maintained within or below budget.

This role will be based from our head office in Chelmsford and will offer the right candidate both the opportunity to produce existing conferences whilst developing a range of new conferences within the legal sector. You will need to be proactive, resilient and extremely confident when dealing with clients at all levels.

You will need to have excellent time management skills, be motivated by achieving and exceeding targets and have an excellent command of English both written and verbal.

The basic salary for candidates with at least 5 years relevant experience will range from £28,000 – £36,000 p.a

In House Recruiter (2 days per week)

With plans of company expansion underway, Netlaw Media is now seeking to employ an in-house recruiter with a minimum 3 years’ experience for a pro-rated position of 2 days per week.

Based from Netlaw Media’s Chelmsford head office, the successful applicant will be highly experienced in sourcing, interviewing and hiring full-time candidates for a range of sales, events, operations and management positions whilst initiating and supporting all stages of the recruitment life cycle.

Working closely with senior management, our new in-house recruiter will be responsible for attracting and headhunting a range of new talent for the company whilst being an integral part of the interview / selection process. In addition to the minimum set requirements, you must also be highly experienced in creating attractive job specifications and advertisements whilst negotiating costs and packages with job boards and advertising outlets.

This role will be perfect for many people including (but not limited to) an experienced recruiter who may have a young family and is seeking to return to work without the hassle of a full time role, or an ambitious person who is currently studying a degree and looking for a flexible position.

Main Duties of the role will include:

  • Taking a 360 degree recruiting approach to the market
  • Managing the entire recruitment process from brief to completion
  • Supporting internal and external projects with regards to employee engagement
  • Attracting candidates of all levels by creating and posting well written job spec’s for multiple newspapers, job boards and social media platforms
  • Proactively headhunting new candidates
  • Accepting and reviewing candidate profiles whilst arranging and confirming all interviews
  • Conducting high levels of telephone and face to face interviews
  • Creating candidate reports, presentations and recommendations for senior management
  • Analyse current internal recruitment practices for potential improvements

Profile:

  • A minimum 3 years proven recruitment experience with work related references
  • A successful background attracting & placing full time candidates of all levels within the events, sales, management and operational areas of the commercial sector
  • An experienced interviewer who knows how to ask the right questions
  • Ability to interview a high volume of candidates on a daily and monthly basis
  • The ability to write creative, focused, clear and concise job specifications and advertisements
  • The ability to work without instruction and without being micro-managed
  • The ability to negotiate advertising space with newspapers, job boards and websites
  • An excellent command of English both written and verbal
  • A diligent work ethic but must enjoy working as part of team
  • Be adaptable to new and exciting challenges
  • Preferably university educated (but not a prerequisite)

Salary:

From £22,000 – £25,000 pro-rata (Salary will be awarded to reflect skills and previous experience).

Business Development Executive – Conferences and Events

Salary – Up to £22,000 + Commission Package

The Business Development Department:

Based from Netlaw Media’s Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex, United Kingdom, the Business Development team is a fast-paced, results orientated with a supportive management structure. We have a dynamic department that centres on the development and nurture of each individual whilst providing additional training, opportunities and recognition for those that excel.

The Role

You will be proactively selling our industry leading events and portfolio to both existing and potential customers within the legal sector. You will be using professional sales tools and techniques in order to diagnose and understand client needs, and then match those needs with our products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Research, find and identifying senior level executives based on the events requirement.
  • Attract, engage and sell to prospective delegates through various methods including phone calls, research, networking and social media.
  • Identify the needs of the prospect and influence decisions within the whole ‘decision making’ unit based on added value.
  • Uphold the image & credibility of Netlaw Media, ensuring all questions, objections or conditions are met or answered.
  • Follow up and develop long standing working relationships with CEO’s, Managing Partners and Partners within the legal sector.
  • Generate new business and increase revenue from existing clients.
  • Track and measure your own development (supported by our In-House training programme).
  • Work closely with Production, Marketing and Sponsorship functions to deliver successful events and results.
  • Accurately forecast and report activities and results.
  • Provide input into the direction and strategy used for current and future campaigns.

Skills / Characteristics

The ideal candidate will be / have:

  • A min of 2 years’ experience working in either an event delegate sales role or a commercial B2B outbound telesales role (Experience must be recent).
  • A desire to build a career in event sales.
  • Driven and purposeful, committed and hardworking, ambitious and motivated in order to keep up with the pace of the business.
  • Intelligent, sharp and logical.
  • Tenacious, articulate and confidence in engaging at director level.
  • Resourceful, disciplined, thorough and able to demonstrate organisational skill.

This role is offering a base salary of up to £22,000 + commission which could see the successful candidate surpassing £30,000 OTE in the first year.
