Sales Manager – Up to £65,000 OTE

Netlaw Media is an established UK based legal information, education & training organisation incorporated to deliver world-class law events, conferences, training programs & on-line media to the UK, European and Global legal sectors.

With the company producing some of the biggest law events in Europe, we are now looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager to work from our Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as a Sales Manager within the Events, Media or Professional Services sectors.

Managing a growing team of sales executives, the successful candidate will be working across the companies key events portfolio were you will not only maintain a high level of account management, but you will also be responsible for developing new clients for a wide range of law related events and exhibitions.

The Role:

As an experienced Sales Manager, you will:

  • Maximise sponsorship sales by creating new relationships & opportunities
  • Consistently identify target brands and generate face to face meetings to establish new relationships
  • Support and work closely with Senior Management
  • Lead from the front in terms of all sales processes and proactively lead source from all mediums
  • Mentor, motivate and coach other staff where necessary
  • Contribute ideas to further develop sales
  • Liaise with internal departments / functions – marketing, operations, accounts etc

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Sales Manager in a similar role
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of brands and how brands buy
  • Own a black book of current up to date brand relationships and knowledge of trends
  • Have solid experience in face to face meetings, presentation creation and proposal writing
  • Have current knowledge of Events, Media or Professional Services sectors
  • Demonstrate strong sales campaign management skills, good planning and organisational skills and a solid understanding of time management

Salary:

The successful candidate will be offered a base salary circa £35-40k with uncapped earnings of 55-65k+ OTE plus.

Interviews are currently being arranged with a view to start as soon as possible.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be proactive, resilient and confident when dealing with clients at a senior level. You will need to have excellent time management skills, be motivated by achieving and exceeding targets and have an excellent command of English both written and verbal.

In House Recruiter (3 days per week)

With plans of company expansion underway, Netlaw Media is now seeking to employ an in-house recruiter with a minimum 3 years’ experience for a pro-rated position of 3 days per week.

Based from Netlaw Media’s Chelmsford head office, the successful applicant will be highly experienced in sourcing, interviewing and hiring full-time candidates for a range of sales, events, operations and management positions whilst initiating and supporting all stages of the recruitment life cycle.

Working closely with senior management, our new in-house recruiter will be responsible for attracting a range of new talent of the company whilst being an integral part of the interview / selection process. In addition to the minimum set requirements, you must also be highly experienced in creating attractive job specifications and advertisements whilst negotiating costs and packages with job boards and advertising outlets.

This role will be perfect for many people including (but not limited to) an experienced recruiter who may have a young family and is seeking to return to work without the hassle of a full time role, or an ambitious person who is currently studying a degree and looking for a flexible position.

Main Duties of the role will include:

  • Taking a 360 degree recruiting approach to the market
  • Managing the entire recruitment process from brief to completion
  • Supporting internal and external projects with regards to employee engagement
  • Attracting candidates of all levels by creating and posting well written job spec’s for multiple newspapers, job boards and social media platforms
  • Accepting and reviewing candidate profiles whilst arranging and confirming all interviews
  • Conducting high levels of telephone and face to face interviews
  • Creating candidate reports, presentations and recommendations for senior management
  • Analyse current internal recruitment practices for potential improvements

Profile:

  • A minimum 3 years proven recruitment experience with work related references
  • A successful background placing full time candidates of all levels within the events, sales, management and operational areas of the commercial sector
  • An experienced interviewer who knows how to ask the right questions
  • Ability to interview a high volume of candidates on a daily and monthly basis
  • The ability to write creative, focused, clear and concise job specifications and advertisements
  • The ability to work without instruction and without being micro-managed
  • The ability to negotiate advertising space with newspapers, job boards and websites
  • An excellent command of English both written and verbal
  • A diligent work ethic but must enjoy working as part of team
  • Be adaptable to new and exciting challenges
  • Preferably university educated (but not a prerequisite)

Salary:

From £22,000 – £25,000 pro-rata (Salary will be awarded to reflect skills and previous experience).

Senior Marketing Executive – Media, Conferences & Events

Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 (Pro-Rata – 2 Days per Week)

The Role:

Due to plans of rapid company expansion, Netlaw media is now seeking to recruit the services of a Senior Marketing Executive’s to promote the full range of events and exhibitions offered by Netlaw Media.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and developing a robust brand management strategy
  • Increasing Netlaw Media brand awareness
  • Creating, managing and executing digital and email marketing campaigns
  • Creating and executing traditional off-line marketing campaigns
  • Managing social media platforms (including scheduling via Hootsuite)
  • Managing the marketing budget
  • Data cleaning and extensive analysis
  • Working closely with the in-house designer to manage and co-ordinate the branding and design of campaign assets – including but not limited to, email templates, website artwork and advertisement
  • Media liaison – briefing journalists and managing distribution of press releases
  • Netlaw Media brand policy – ensuring that the company follows brand policy including the monitoring the use of internal email signatures and templates
  • Monitoring and managing branded stock control – ensuring branded materials including letter headed paper and business cards, are up to date
  • Lead generation for the sales and delegate services team
  • Updating the company CRM database – including but not limited to data reporting and monitoring marketing lists

Skills / Characteristics

The ideal candidate will be / have:

  • A minimum 6 years proven marketing experience within a professional services organisation
  • Proven experience working on multiple large annual events and exhibitions would be an advantage
  • Ideally a marketing qualification and hold a university degree
  • Proven copy writing skills
  • Proven data management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment

Salary:

Salary – £25,000 – £27,000 (Pro-Rata – 2 Days per Week)

Requirements & Responsibilities include;

  • A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience exceeding targets within sponsorship sales
  • Strong command of the legal market or professional service market or solid experience with on-boarding blue chips. (This could mean that you have solid experience selling sponsorship packages to the legal, accountancy, finance or management sectors).
  • Researching, attracting, closing, retaining and managing new accounts
  • Managing, developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, leading organisations and partners
  • Building a pipeline whilst surpassing all set sales targets for each month / event
  • The ability to be self-starting and to work without supervision
  • A very confident phone manner, strong negotiation skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to be proactive, resilient and confident when dealing with clients at a senior level. You will need to have excellent time management skills, be motivated by achieving and exceeding targets and have an excellent command of English both written and verbal.

There is a generous base salary of up to £26,000 + commission which could easily see the successful candidate surpassing £50,000 OTE in the first year.

The Business Development Department:

Based from Netlaw Media’s Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex, United Kingdom, the Business Development team is a fast-paced, results orientated with a supportive management structure. The Role

You will be pro-actively selling our leading events and portfolio to both existing and potential clients within the Legal sector. You will be using professional sales tools and techniques in order to diagnose and understand client needs, and then match those needs with our products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identifying senior level executives based on the events requirement.
  • Attract, engage and sell to prospective delegates through various methods including phone calls, research, networking and social media.

  • Uphold the image & credibility of Netlaw Media, ensuring all questions, objections or conditions are met or answered.

  • Track and measure your own development (supported by our In-House training programme).

Skills / Characteristics

The ideal candidate will be / have:

  • A min of 2 years’ experience working in event delegate sales or 4+ years working in a commercial B2B outbound telesales role (Experience must be recent).
  • A desire to build a career in event sales.

  • Intelligent, sharp and logical.

Senior Conference Producer – Large Events

Salary: £28,000 – £36,000

Reporting directly to the CEO and Managing Director and supported by a senior events operations executive and events operations assistant, Netlaw Media is currently seeking to hire an experienced conference producer (with experience producing large conferences within legal and / or professional services) to produce a range of new and existing conferences and exhibitions for the UK legal sector.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have;

  • A minimum of 5 years producing large conferences and / or exhibitions within legal or professional services.
  • A good understanding of the mechanics behind large events and exhibitions and how successful events are produced and staged.
  • A proven ability to identify, develop and roll out financially successful events from conception to completion.
  • The ability to manage all aspects of conference production including (but not limited to) pre-event planning, event programming, content selection, speaker acquisition, speaker relations, delegate attraction, event marketing, on-site management, post-event evaluation and reporting.
  • Complete end to end management of conferences including: full management of venues, facilities, suppliers, registration, delegates, AV & technical, transportation, exhibition & signage, stage set / design, crisis planning, health & safety, security and risk assessment.
  • A proven record of researching, attracting and contracting speakers and suppliers.
  • Strong experience supporting and working alongside sales and marketing teams.
  • Setting & maintaining conference budgets as well as sourcing, negotiating and managing relationships with venues, suppliers and external vendors to achieve the highest standard of excellence and cost efficiencies.
  • A proven ability to manage and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders
  • A strong understanding of the legal and / or professional sectors as well as the ability to conduct in-depth research whilst keeping up to date with changes within the sector.
  • A clear understanding of all conference & exhibition risk, health & safety, hospitality guidelines, compliance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven on-site conference management skills including organising staff, greeting speakers, running a multiple stage programme to a set schedule.
  • The ability to be self-starting and to work without supervision.
  • A confident phone manner, strong skills of persuasion and negotiation.
  • The ability to think outside the circle and to bring new and exciting ideas to the table.

This role will be based from our head office in Chelmsford and will offer the right candidate both the opportunity to produce existing conferences whilst developing a range of new conferences within the legal sector. You will need to be proactive, resilient and extremely confident when dealing with clients at all levels.

You will need to have excellent time management skills, be motivated by achieving and exceeding targets and have an excellent command of English both written and verbal.

The basic salary for candidates with at least 5 years relevant experience will range from £28,000 – £36,000 p.a
